Would they have to recharge quickly or have the batteries change out quickly?
Is the miles per dollar an issue?
Would you have an issue recharging at home or work?
Are you concerned about maintenance costs?
Which would, you accept more, an electric car or truck?
Would you prefer if either was a gasoline-electric or diesel-electric hybrid? Why?
Are concerned that they don't have enough acceleration or torque?

For me to seriously consider buying an electric vehicle, a few things would have to change.
1st, I would want to wait until the performance is on par with gasoline engines. I know there are electric sports cars like the Tesla that are fast, but the regular electric cars are still very under powered.
I would also want a long range, with quick charging abilities. And I would not want to pay a premium for it, just because it’s electric. In my opinion there are many gasoline or diesel powered cars that are very close in fuel economy compared to the Prius, but also are a lot more fun to drive.
I also am very interested in diesel-electric technology, but I dont really think america will ever embrace this.
In my opinion, deisel options are much more practical than hybrids, but for many reasons, some valid, others pretty dated opinions, Americans dont like diesels.
100 mile range and quick battery exchange.
I would love to drive a totally electric car, but my biggest concern about electric cars is the battery life/available driving distance. I live about 50 miles from the big city for shopping or entertainment. For me, a typical day in the city results in a 120-150 mile round trip. I don’t want to have to push the stupid car the last 10 miles home because the batteries pooped out.
Show me a battery powered family sedan that can go 250 miles on a single charge, make it as comfortable, reliable and fast as a gasoline powered car, and sell it at a price similar to today’s gasoline powered cars, and I’ll be one of the first standing in line to buy one.
Basically, it would have to be equal in most every way to a car with an internal combustion engine, including price. I’m not going to make too many sacrifices in convenience, reliability, range, pick-up, operating cost, etc., just so I can say that I have an electric car and am therefore "green."
Sunroof, decent stereo system, power seats. You know, the important stuff. It would also need to go at least 75 mph and have a price sticker of about 5 grand or less which is the price range I currently spend on a vehicle. Since I also work in a career field in which I must travel on icy, snowy road conditions, front or all wheel drive is also a requirement.
